On May 9. 2022 at 22:36 hours Bellevue officers responded to 18 N. Fremont Ave for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they spoke with the female victim and an eyewitness. Officers were informed that Leroy Miller the victim's estranged husband had followed her from Carrick to Bellevue where she was going to visit a friend. When the victim entered the hallway to the apartment complex Miller appeared and dragged her outside and pinned her on the ground. The victim reported that Miller stated, "I am going to kill you tonight."
She was able to get back to her feet and drew a pistol from her waistband. A struggle occurred over the gun and the victim fired three shots and then fled towards Lincoln Avenue yelling for people to call the police. Miller was not struck with any rounds and fled the scene.
Based upon the information reported to officers by the victim and witness a warrant has been obtained for Leroy Miller on the charges listed.
