The awarding of a commendation to a police officer doesn't come lightly. In the early morning hours of 9/11/2022 Officer Dold and Officer Blair definitely earned the accolades they received yesterday.
The police department received our first report of catalytic convertor theft this morning. The theft occurred overnight on a main street, so these lowlifes are not shy about committing their crimes. The act of removing a convertor is very loud, so it is important to call 911 immediately if you hear a loud metal cutting noise or see anyone working under a vehicle, especially at night.
In an effort to increase pedestrian safety, Borough crews have adopted a new crosswalk design. The large block pattern increases the visibility of the crosswalk area, alerting drivers of the potential for crossing foot traffic.
Along with the enhanced crosswalks, large visible pedestrian signs are planned for many of the intersections.

NOTICE:
This is a notification regarding the increase in items being stolen from unlocked vehicles. It is important that everyone ensure they are locking their vehicle doors and not leaving valuable items inside regardless if it is locked or unlocked. These are crimes of opportunity and the way to curb the temptation is to take away the opportunity.
