The work that was to be done this week and next week between 12am and 4am has been moved to consecutive Sundays.

This Sunday April 18 between 8pm and 4am and next Sunday April 25 between 8pm and 4am, crews will be working in this intersection.

PAT PD and CSPD will assist with traffic control.

Port Authority Transit of Allegheny County (PAT) will be working on the LRT crossing at Castle Shannon Blvd and Willow Ave over the next few weeks.

In order to avoid traffic congestion the work will happen at night Sunday through Friday evenings midnight to 0400am.

PAT Police and Castle Shannon Police are cooperating to share responsibility for traffic control.

TRAFFIC DETOUR: UNION AVE.

Work is targeted to start on April 5 for Union Avenue. As a result, Union Avenue will be closed to through traffic with posted detours in the area.

The closure will occur for bridge repair work between William Street and Edies Way.

Union Avenue to William Street will be accessible from the I-279 and Highland Road portions.

Bellevue is experiencing a power outage throughout a large portion of the Borough.  Traffic signals are impacted, please use caution while driving.

Castle Shannon Police took a report of a prowler in a dark jacket trying vehicle door handles after 11pm on Tuesday March 16, 2021 in the area of Myrtle Ave and Pine Ave.

Officers responded and did identify subjects in the area generally fitting the description of the actors.

Please check your surveillance video and report any potential evidence to the Castle Shannon Police Department.

This is an opportunity to remind residents to LOCK vehicles, even if they are parked in your driveway. It also a good idea to remove valuables from parked cars.

A contractor will be working on McRoberts Rd between Loma and Weyman in Whitehall Borough starting Monday March 15, 2021.

Traffic will be detoured around the closure, which is expected to take approximately six weeks.

The main detour should be Rte 88 to Grove Rd to Baptist to Weyman and the reverse.

Traffic is expected to find its way into the neighborhood feeder streets and Castle Shannon Police will be monitoring for speed and other traffic violations.

...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGHTUESDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 8 inches possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest, southwest and western Pennsylvania, east central Ohio and northern and the northern panhandle of West Virginia.

* WHEN...From late tonight through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS.

The heaviest of the snowfall is expected later this afternoon and evening.  Accidents have already been reported throughout the area and conditions are worsening.  If can avoid driving please do so to allow road crews a chance to get ahead of creating the roadways.  4 to 6 more inches of snow is expected.  

If anyone calls you and pretends to be a relative who is in trouble and needs cash fast...and asks you help by buying gift cards or to wire/transfer money, it is most LIKELY a SCAM.

Please call other family members to verify any truth to such calls and/or notify your local police department by calling 9-1-1.
