Beware ADT Scam (all solicitors should have identification and a permit)

A resident of Shannon Heights reported that 2 females came to her home and said they were ADT sales representatives.

The suspect(s) alleged that they were sent by the mortgage company to check on the security system, but the resident said there was no security system active at her new residence.

Scammers have been known to identify with a security firm in order to gain personal information and/or gain access to homes for later criminal intent.

All solicitors in Castle Shannon should be carrying a Solicitor Permit.

If you do not want to entertain solicitors or canvasses (political, religious or otherwise) feel free to place a sign on your door in a conspicuous place noting that no trespassing, soliciting or canvassing will be tolerated and that violators will be referred to police. Then call 9-1-1 if the sign is violated.

Always call 9-1-1 to report suspicious people, vehicles, or circumstances.
