On Saturday May 31, 2025 Glassport Officers were on scene to follow up for another agency. While on scene a dog, that was tethered, broke loose and attacked a Glassport Police Officer. The Officer drew her weapon and shot the dog once to get the dog off of her leg. The Officer was transported by ambulance to the Hospital for her serve leg injuries but is in stable condition. A crowd formed and numerous agencies arrived to help take three individuals into custody. Glassport Police contacted Animal Control for the welfare of the injured dog. Animal Control arrived and the dog was rushed to the vet. This is an on going investigation and the incident was recorded by Officers body cameras.
