On January 15, 2021, three of our officers went above and beyond to save the life of a suicidal individual. Sgt. McGaughey, Officer Blair, and Officer Diven responded to a call for a suicidal male in the McDonalds parking lot. Officer Diven located the individual in a parked car bleeding heavily from both arms. These officers were able to remove and restrain the person while applying a tourniquet to both arms to stop the bleeding, which would have most likely resulted in a loss of life.
For their quick thinking and actions, all three officers have been awarded the official law enforcement life-saving medal to be worn upon their uniform as a sign of dedicated service to the community.
