Happy Monday! (Yep, we checked the calendar it is really a Monday)
Attached is the daily situation report for 5/4/2020.
In a previous post, we informed everyone that an ONLINE reporting feature had been added to this site. Within a month's time we have approximately 15 reports filed through this tool. Although it not as timely as a 9-1-1 call it is very efficient for report calls when time is not as vital. Once an online report is filed supervisors receive the details and assign the call to a shift officer or handle themselves. It has seemed to be working during this major change in operations.
Disclaimer - If a call is in progress or deemed an emergency please do not use this method or any form of online communication. You must use 9-1-1 to ensure rapid response and proper protocol in handling the call. As of late, we have had some noise disturbance calls and some have been received electronically long after the incident was happening.
We would like to know if filing an online report is something you could become comfortable doing? Whether you believe it will help or encourage people to report information or maybe you believe the opposite, that it will negatively impact relations between the police and the citizens. We would like to hear your opinions or use Facebook emojis to show how you feel. You can submit your response by using our CONTACT FORM.
Be safe Bellevue!
