Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Pennsylvania American Water Customers in Portions of Allegheny County

PITTSBURGH, PA (September 22, 2019) - Pennsylvania American Water customers in portions of Allegheny County, no longer need to boil their water before use or take any additional precautions. Acceptable test results were obtained from samples collected on September 20 and 21, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has authorized lifting the advisory.

This notice applies to customers located in the following municipalities:

The boil advisory was issued September 20, 2019, due to a loss in positive water pressure at water storage tanks in Green Tree and Castle Shannon following a local water main break. The broken main limited the company’s ability to replenish the water storage tank and local system.
