Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day, which was meant to honor the Union & Confederate soldiers who died during the American Civil War. By the 1900's it had become a day to remember all American soldiers who died while serving in the military. It wasn't until 1967 that it was legally changed to Memorial Day.
We will always remember the sacrifices of our nation's heroes, and are deeply grateful. We also honor their loved ones and friends and will live in gratitude each day for the precious gift that they have given to us.
