LETTER FROM THE BRENTWOOD BOROUGH SCHOOL DISTRICT -
February 10, 2023
Dear Brentwood Families,
District administration has been collaborating with first responders, local officials, and neighboring communities for the past several days to discuss the visitation and funeral service for Baldwin Whitehall graduate, Officer Sean Sluganski. Thousands of first responders, law enforcement, friends, and family are expected to travel through Brentwood Borough and Baldwin Whitehall from Sunday through Tuesday.
Due to multiple planned rolling road closures on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, the Brentwood Borough School District will be implementing an asynchronous remote learning day. The remote day will count as a full day of instruction for students. The school buildings will be closed so breakfast and lunch will not be served. Inperson classes will resume on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Professional and support staff will be communicating with families to assist throughout the day.
Elementary Students
Students must log into Canvas by 8:50am for attendance. If students do not log in and complete the work, they will be marked with an unexcused absence for the day. The attendance policy remains in effect.
Teachers will post assignments in Canvas for students to complete.
Teachers will be available during office hours for small group work and individual work, as needed.
Students will attend their regularly scheduled special area class (gym, music, physical education, STEM, etc.).
Students who receive special services (speech, ESL, resource classes) will continue to receive those services as scheduled by the appropriate staff member.
Secondary Students
High School students will not attend Steel Center.
Students must log into Canvas to complete the attendance question by 9:00am. If students do not log in and complete the work, they will be marked with an unexcused absence for the day. The attendance policy remains in effect.
Teachers will post assignments in Canvas for students to complete.

Sincerely,
Amy M Burch, D.Ed.
