Solicitation Awareness in Brentwood Borough
The Brentwood Borough Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors to be aware of solicitation activities in our community. While many solicitors are legitimate, some may be fraudulent or misleading.
To ensure your safety and security, please remember:
- Be cautious of unsolicited door-to-door sales or solicitations, especially if you did not initiate contact.
- Verify the identity and legitimacy of solicitors by asking for identification and checking for any necessary permits or licenses (A solicitor should have a borough issued license on their person)
- Do not feel pressured to make a purchase or donation on the spot. Take time to research the organization or company and their claims.
- Never give out personal or financial information to solicitors.
- If you suspect a solicitor is fraudulent or aggressive, do not hesitate to contact the Brentwood Borough Police Department by dialing 911.
By being informed and vigilant, we can work together to prevent fraudulent solicitation activities in our community. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If you have any concerns or questions, please never hesitate to contact us by dialing 911 or stopping one of our officers.
