CSPD took a report of a Burglary and Auto Theft on 3-22-24.
The suspect entered the Wabash Ave home in the overnight hours, around 0200am through an unlocked back door. The victim's wallet, purse and car keys were taken, and their vehicle stolen.
Subsequent investigation and collaboration with other law enforcement agencies determined that the suspect used the victim's credit cards in Virginia.
He is suspected of additional Burglaries and Thefts in Virginia, where he is in custody.
CSPD applied for a warrant to arrest
William Chai Miller (30 year old) from Braddock Hills. The case has been referred to the appropriate agency to determine extradition criteria.
CSPD takes this opportunity to remind residents to lock homes and vehicles always, but especially overnight. Remove valuables from vehicles and keep valuables in your home out of sight.
Additional security may be available through motion sensors, outdoor lighting, surveillance cameras, and/or alarm systems.
