Theft of Iconic Wooden Sign at The Grove
On July 28, 2025, the Castle Shannon Police Department took a theft report at The Grove, located at 3429 Willow Avenue. The business owner reported that the establishment had closed for good on the evening of July 26, 2025. Upon arriving at the business the following day, the owner discovered that the iconic wooden business sign was missing.
Business surveillance footage revealed that a truck pulled into the northwest corner of the parking lot at approximately 10:45 pm on July 27, 2025. The footage showed several individuals exiting the truck, removing the sign from its standing posts, and placing it in the bed of the truck.
Through intersection surveillance footage, investigators identified the truck and its owner. On July 29, 2025, officers responded to an address in Baldwin Borough, where they interviewed a suspect and obtained a confession. The suspect subsequently relinquished the stolen sign at the Castle Shannon Police Department.
Shannon Collins, a 42-year-old female, has been charged by summons with Criminal Mischief and Disorderly Conduct. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
