Drug Tack Back 2023 - Saturday, April 22nd - 10 AM-2PM
Castle Shannon Police Department, Lebanon Shops Pharmacy, and Asti's Pharmacy taking back unwanted prescription drugs on
April 22nd.
On Saturday April 22nd, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the
Castle Shannon Police Department,
Asti’s South Hills Pharmacy,
and Lebanon Shops Pharmacy
will provide the public the opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
Bring your pills/medications for disposal to the Castle Shannon Police Department at 3310 McRoberts Road or to Asti 's Pharmacy located at 250 Mt. Lebanon Blvd or to Lebanon Shops Pharmacy at 300 Mt Lebanon Blvd. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
If you are unable to join us on April 22nd, the Castle Shannon Police Department, Asti's Pharmacy, and Lebanon Shops Pharmacy are all registered with the DEA as collection points and will accept unwanted medications year-round.
This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Rates of prescription drug abuse in the United States are alarmingly high, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs.
