Castle Shannon Police Department and Asti's Pharmacy taking back unwanted prescription drugs on October 23rd!

On Saturday October 23rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Castle Shannon Police Department, Asti’s South Hills Pharmacy, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will provide the public the opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous unwanted prescription drugs.

Bring your pills/medications for disposal to the Castle Shannon Police Department located at 3310 McRoberts Road or to Asti 's Pharmacy located at 250 Mt. Lebanon Boulevard. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

This event is DEA's 21st nationwide event since its inception 10 years ago.

This past April, Americans turned in 420 TONS of prescription drugs across America. Help us surpass this number this fall!

This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse.

For those unable to participate on October 23rd, medications are accepted at Asti’s Pharmacy and the Castle Shannon Police Department locations everyday throughout the year.
