Allegheny County is currently in the process of updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) for 2026, which was last updated in 2020.
This planning effort is vital to ensure that the County and its municipalities have continued eligibility for federal grants that help protect our communities.
The HMP identifies potential risks, potential mitigation measures, helps reduce the need for emergency response, supports better decision-making, and promotes cooperation between the County, municipalities, and stakeholders.
All of which is done to maintain compliance with FEMA standards so that mitigation and disaster funding can be made available.
WE NEED YOUR INPUT!
We are inviting residents and stakeholders to provide critical feedback that will help shape the future of hazard mitigation in your community and throughout the County.
This virtual public workshop will be focused around assessing the natural hazards that our communities face and how we can be best positioned to respond to them.
Your insights are important to developing a plan that best reflects the needs and priorities of Allegheny County.
