National Night Out- Tuesday August 2, 2022

National Night Out (NNO)

is a community-building campaign that culminates annually on the first Tuesday in August. This year it is schedule for Tuesday, August 2, 2022. Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from public safety personnel, and much, much more.

National Night Out (NNO) promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our communities safer, more caring places to live. Additionally, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and other first responders together with residents under positive circumstances. The program enhances the relationship between neighbors, law enforcement and first responders while bringing back a true sense of community.

While we aren’t planning a centralized event this year, the Castle Shannon Police have long held that EVERY NIGHT is National Night Out. We consistently promote community safety and awareness messaging that if you SEE something, SAY something! Additionally, we encourage our residents to call 911 to report suspicious people, vehicles and circumstances.

On August 2, 2022 …and every night,  spend time outside to meet your neighbors, keep a watchful eye for each other, and to thwart criminal activity.
