Allegheny County – On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at approximately 6:00 a.m., the Castle Shannon Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery and carjacking at the PNC Bank ATM located in the Lebanon Shops in the 300 block of Mt. Lebanon Boulevard.
The adult male victim had withdrawn cash from the ATM and returned to his vehicle. Two African American males approached the victim’s vehicle on the front passenger side. One male was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, red ball cap, and black partial face covering. This male displayed a firearm by pointing it at the victim while he was seated in his vehicle. The second male was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, red partial face covering, and black pants. He stood behind the first male. The victim was ordered out of his vehicle. The male in the gray hooded sweatshirt took the victim’s cell phone and both males fled the scene in the victims’ vehicle.
The victim flagged down a passerby and called 9-1-1. The suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle up Mt. Lebanon Boulevard towards Washington Road. Castle Shannon Police responded to the scene. The victim reported that his phone, cash and vehicle were taken in the armed robbery. The victim was not injured during the robbery. A BOLO was put out for the stolen vehicle. The investigative assistance of the Allegheny County Police General Investigations Unit was requested. Detectives responded and initiated an investigation.
At approximately 7:15 p.m., Pittsburgh Police notified Allegheny County Police that the stolen vehicle was parked on the street in the Beltzhoover section of the City of Pittsburgh. County detectives responded to the scene and recovered the vehicle for processing.
Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the two robbery suspects whose images were captured from surveillance cameras in the area.
